More about Natalie
Having been raised in the Far East, the philosophy of Yoga - that of union between the mind and body and the on-going interplay between the two - became a fundamental part of my childhood.
Training as a nurse in the 1980's and specialising in the care of spinally injured patients highlighted for me the importance of looking after the mind and mental state of our patients as well as their bodies. In 1990 I developed and ran for a number of years a successful one to one fitness and nutritional training programme, in London, with support from the Prince's Youth Business Trust. This background in western medicine and fitness training has influenced at every level both my personal yoga journey and that of my teaching over many years. As a qualified Registered Nurse, gaining my Diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2004 gave me the gold standard vigorous training required to deliver high quality teaching. That teacher training foundation has been built upon over the years through my work with Maarten Vermaase (meditation and personal development), Alistair Shearer (philosophy), Pete Blackaby (body movement and somatic movement), Philip Xerri (pranayama), Liz Lark (asana), Donna Farhi and many more. I continue to organise and run training days and other teaching events myself and on behalf of tutors who are experts in their specific area of Yoga for both teachers and the experienced student. |
